Preventive care

Time for you – security for your loved ones

TIME TO TAKE A BREATH

Because relatives

need a break sometimes too

Anyone who cares for a loved one on a daily basis does an enormous amount. But even family carers sometimes need a break – whether due to illness, holidays or simply to relax. That’s when we step in: reliably, warmly and directly at your home.

Our respite care ensures that care continues when you, as a family member, are unable to be there. Whether for a few hours or several days, we take over the care at home, according to your needs and in close consultation with you.

Respite care is a service provided by nursing care insurance in accordance with Section 39 of the German Social Code (SGB XI). People in need of care with a recognised care level are entitled to this if home care has been provided by relatives or other non-professional carers for at least six months.

During this time, the Sernitas Care team not only provides professional support, but also relief, security and peace of mind – for those in need of care and their relatives alike.

After my own surgery, I was temporarily unable to care for my mother. Sernitas Care stepped in at short notice, everything was well organised, and we were kept informed about every step in a transparent manner.

Only medically prescribed medical treatment, such as administering injections or wound care, is not covered by our care service as part of respite care. All other care and nursing tasks are fully covered.

The costs for respite care are covered by nursing care insurance (from care level 2) up to €1,612 per year and for a maximum of 6 weeks. The benefits for respite care and short-term care can be combined: if the benefits for short-term care have not been used or have not been used in full during the year, up to 50% – i.e. £806 – can be used for respite care. The benefits for replacement care can thus be increased to £2,418 per calendar year.
