If you receive care allowance and your care at home is organised by relatives or other private individuals, regular consultations are required by law in accordance with Section 37.3 of the Eleventh Social Security Code (SGB XI). These consultations serve to ensure the quality of your home care and to support family carers.

The consultations are professionally qualified discussions or home visits by a nursing professional. They take place in your familiar surroundings and have the following objectives:

Professional support for family carers
Assessment of the current care situation
Advice on care techniques and aids
Information about respite and support services
Clarification of questions about everyday care

The consultations help to identify excessive demands at an early stage and to develop appropriate measures to ensure adequate care.
